FASHION DESIGN – TIPS FOR BEGINNERS – Croquiando Moda Blog
Hello crockers! I had a lot of requests on social media to make this post (which makes me very happy) so here are all the tips about what I’ve learned and am learning! Is it so important to know how to draw? Yes, because like when you are going to send a drawing to the seamstress, if it is not clear, the clothes can come out totally different from what you created. Do you have to go to college drawing? No, but if you know it, it will help you a lot, not only in drawing classes, but in sewing, as you’ll have an idea of trim, pleats and other details. Is it difficult to learn to draw? It depends on the person, some are easier, but with a lot of love, patience and willpower everything flows naturally, and when you see it you’re already drawing the most through the sketches with your own identity.

Necessary materials
– A4 sheet or Sketchbook
– Pencil H2, 2B, 4B and 6B or Mechanical pencil 0.7
– Sharpener or Stylus
– Soft rubber (Indication of Cis)
– Ruler (up to 30 cm)
– Compactor Pen or Nanjing Pen (to contour)
Basic female body proportions
Make a line (vertical) and straight, even if you want the model to be in an inclined position, make another 8 lines (horizontal) dividing into 8 equal heads and continue drawing exactly as shown in the image.
For those who are not easy to draw sketches, there are some simple techniques that can help in the learning and creation process. It may seem a little strange, but this is a great way to create poses and with time get used to drawing without using bases (the technique I use).
After drawing your sketch, a good way to start getting practice is to use one foundation to make others. The idea is that by practicing you can draw freehand and create your own style, but as this takes some time, you can for now put the bases under the sheet and then create clothes on top of them.
