What look should I wear in my Pregnant Woman essay?

Your pregnancy rehearsal day is approaching, anxiety is increasing, you check everything but you still have doubts about what to bring to the session. Which outfit will look cool? What will match? In doubt about the accessories? Anyway, he wants to take everything, but he knows he needs to select some clothes.
With that in mind, we’ve put together this post with lots of information that can be useful for you to prepare for your maternity photo session. These are tips on matching clothes, for you and your husband, for your children, what accessories are interesting and what you should avoid taking 😉
So what to bring? Where do I start?
We always indicate to our pregnant women that they can take the clothes they already have. All it takes is a combination of styles and colors to make everything look beautiful, you don’t need something new or specific for the session to result in beautiful photos.
The first question you should think about is the style you want for the photos. Want something more laid-back, social, laid-back, glamorous? If you know what style you want to make your session, just think of clothes and accessories that match it. It’s important to take into account your personal style. The photos have a duty to show how you are, the couple’s personality.
Another point to consider when choosing the style is the location of the photos. They need to match each other. If it’s in the countryside, very social clothes with high shoes don’t match. If it’s at home, a more laid-back style, day by day, is all about it.
Hot or cold? Short or long sleeve?
Ready, defined the style? Now you can get the pieces that best match each other from your wardrobe. Take into account the time of year – winter or summer – and how the temperatures are on the day of the session. On a low temperature day you can, and should, bring clothes so you don’t get cold and the rehearsal will be beautiful – we love a session with winter air :D. If it’s a hot day, even in winter, the option can be for lighter clothes, unless you want a session with the face of the coldest season of the year.
For summer, or hot days, skirts with tops, dresses, shorts and a shirt – one social, open, with a 😉 top – are great. Combine with the season and you will not go hot. For shoes, sandals, flats or even shoes with heels can be used, just be careful to use the shoes according to the clothes.
For a cold day, or if you want a session with a winter look, the option is for this season’s clothes. Coats, jackets, long-sleeved blouses, pants, long skirts, boots, scarves, gloves, in short, anything that goes with the cold is welcome 🙂.
And for Daddy you can take anything that matches your clothes. It’s important that it harmonizes with Mom, so clothes with similar colors, the same style, should be worn. What is very common to take for them are polo shirts, t-shirts or dress shirts. Pants and shorts can be part of it, as well as running shoes, shoes and sandals.
If you already have children, the clothes for them follow the same logic as yours and Dad’s, always trying to match between you. You don’t need to have the same clothes, just avoid very different styles and colors and you’ll be right 😉
Reminder: Unless it’s something from your history, avoid wearing clothes with big prints from brands or very flashy designs, because besides being temporal, they can draw more attention than the couple.
Accessories
Accessories will help a lot during the session. Often using a few more details, the photo already changes and you have several new compositions that will be beautiful. You can take necklaces, earrings, bracelets, coats, boleros, scarves, gloves, hats, whatever you have that matches your style.
As you can see in the photos above, the pregnant woman Letícia wore a shirt over her dress and then we took it off, leaving only the beautiful dress she was wearing, which defined her belly very well 🙂
Your essay will be even richer in variety but without losing the sense of the looks, as they will only be variations 🙂
Watch out for the carnival of colors and textures/prints
When combining the pieces, think about the colors. Everything will depend on your taste, but for a pregnant woman’s rehearsal, light and cheerful colors are great. This is not to say that wearing colored or darker shades cannot be worn. On the contrary, they can, as long as there is harmony between the looks.
It is very important to avoid a color carnival, with a basic look, a very colorful one, lots of bright colors and then a very striking print.
Try to maintain a pattern, if using light tones, that is throughout the test, for example a variation of white/off white, going to cream with pink/blue/green/light yellow and ending with a light print outfit , with tones that have appeared before. Great combination!
But you can also use dark, earthy or colder tones, whatever you like 😉Or you can also vary the color tone of your clothes with your husband. You can wear a lighter shade and it is darker, or you can wear a lighter shade and it is darker. Thus, the pregnant woman is highlighted in the session, but without letting her look beautiful and have her partner with her 🙂

How many looks to separate?
In our tests, we always recommend using 2 to 3 looks. Each look can be used for a part of the rehearsal, creating a story with continuity that later, on the album, looks really good!
But if you still have doubts about an item to take, put it in the bag and before starting the photos we help to separate and define what will be used. Better to take too much and not use than take too little and regret it.
baby items
For those who like and already have baby clothes and decor items, you can take what you like most to the session. Bodysuits, clothes, shoes and the baby’s name can be part of the session, as well as the Ultrasound photo 😀
Finally, the important thing is that you feel good during the session, and that goes for the clothes as well. Always remember the couple’s style when sorting their clothes, so that on the day this will be less of a worry, so you can concentrate on enjoying this moment to enjoy each other and the baby that is to come!
