Have a costume party to go and want to be a witch? This costume is ideal for Halloween parties and is a very easy option for those who are out of time or ideas.

In addition to witch clothes and accessories, makeup also plays a very important role in this type of costume. “The colors for this makeup are very important, as the more funereal and frightening the better,” suggests make-up artist Samuel Victor of Salon Prime.

He emphasizes that the ideal are shadows with the concave more marked in purplish tones and more closed to give depth, leaving the eyelid immobile and drooping. “Another important part of this makeup is the lipstick. Black is always a good option, but it is used a lot, so my indication is purple,” he says. He also adds that the purple lipstick in matte tones is sexy and contrasts with the eyes, which makes makeup much more fun.

“Orange and moss green tones can also be used. It’s important that the shade of the lipstick and the blush are in harmony so that the makeup doesn’t weigh down”, reveals Samuel.

How to do witch makeup

According to make-up artist Samuel, the main feature of this makeup is the contours that enhance the features of the face (such as chin, nose, cheekbones and forehead). The contour should be marked to create depth and make the makeup more expressive.

“One of the most used techniques in this type of makeup is the smoky eye, which makes makeup sexier. The more smoky, the greater the depth in the gaze, which also gives the impression of bigger eyes”, he points out.

The professional also declares that you can use eyeliner and even do the “cat eye”, but always smudging. For those who have a small or almond-shaped look, it is recommended not to use black pencil on the lower cartilage (waterline), the ideal is to use only the root of the lashes outwards and blend.

Easy step by step to make yourself at home

In the following tutorial you can check out a makeup that is easy to do and looks beautiful, even though it’s a Halloween look.

Start eye makeup. Apply foundation primer to the eyelids and then apply foundation and powder.
Apply brown eyeshadow all over the mobile eyelid and blend just above the concave. For a more dramatic effect, pull some smoky kitten style to the sides, as pictured.
Then apply black eyeshadow all over the mobile eyelid and blend into the concave with the brown eyeshadow to make a smooth gradient.
The next step is to correct the eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil or other product suitable for this purpose.
Now it’s the skin’s turn. Apply foundation primer on the face and then apply foundation and then powder.
Ideally, the skin should be quite pale, so you can skip the blush if you wish.
To finish the eye, apply brown eyeshadow below the waterline and blend well. Finish with black eyeliner and plenty of mascara.
The last touch is the lipstick: apply with a brush, as this will ensure that the dark outline of the lipstick is perfect. Suggested colors are: black, purple or burgundy.

If you want to create depth in the face to make the look a little more macabre, make the contour using a powder 2 or 3 shades darker than your skin, smudging well.
