No models, just dolls
Since the 1500s, stylists have exhibited their clothing line creating a mini version for putting on dolls. There were no real human models until 1853.

Although still widely used today, skirts are the second oldest piece in history, predating only the loincloth. Furthermore, the skirts weren’t just for women. In fact, between 1600 and 1700, men and women wore them.

In the late nineteenth century, people wore rubber-soled shoes called plimsolls, but they were rude. The US Rubber Company created more comfortable rubber shoes with canvas tops during 1892 and called them Keds. The shoes were named sneakers because the soles were so soft that they allow the wearer to sneak silently. In 1917, sneakers began to be mass-produced.
The Marquis Converse also produced its first shoe that same year and called it the Converse All-Stars, a shoe made just for basketball.
