Every year, handfuls of our favorite snacks, drinks, and general food items silently disappear from grocery store shelves, leaving us confused and heartbroken. This phenomenon is more common than you would expect. Every year, food distributors pull products due to poor sales, health concerns, ingredient scarcity, and many other factors.
(Just ask any ‘90s kid about Gushers and Lunchables .) And while it’s easy to think that most foods become obsolete because of poor sales or changing trends, there are some pretty scary reasons, too.
