What Happened To Gold Peak Unsweetened Tea?

It was first introduced in 2006 while a chilled version was launched in 2009. Past formulations of the product had won the ChefsBest award for best taste when it was made with tea leaves from the Kenyan Rift Valley. As of 2019 Gold Peak tea is no longer made from concentrate and is now brewed and bottled in their juice plants.

This is specific to Gold Peak Green Tea. I have witnessed multiple issues with this product over the 18 months. First it started with EVERY retailer in our area (Denver/Boulder/Rocky Mountain) selling out of the 64oz and being unable to restock. This was mid/late 2019.

Gold Peak sweet tea is sold in a number of packages 18.5oz, 6pk 16.9oz, 64oz. I have heard there is a 1L bottle but I have never seen it. The cold and ambient are pretty much the same except that the cold has been kept cold after brewing and the ambient is kept at room temperature once it cools.

Gold Peak flavors win top honors for being the worst iced tea brand out there. They use a brewed tea concentrate, boost the appearance of tea with caramel color, and worst of all, they jam-pack their bottles with added sugars. Just 5 grams short of your entire day’s recommended intake can be found in this bottle.
