What Drink Has The Most Sugar At Starbucks?

10 Low-Sugar Starbucks Drinks. 1 Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew (10g sugar) 2 Caffe Misto (10g sugar) 3 Jade Citrus Mint® Brewed Tea (0g sugar) 4 Chai Tea (0g sugar) 5 Iced Starbucks® Blonde Espresso Americano (0g sugar) More items

W hen you need an early-morning caffeine fix or an afternoon pick-me-up, Starbucks might be your go-to spot for a cup of coffee or yummy espresso drink. But certain Starbucks drinks are complete sugar bombs, thanks to syrups, drizzles, whipped cream, and even cookie crumbles.

These healthier Starbucks drinks will help you cut back on unwanted calories and sugar. Starbucks is known for their over-the-top coffee and tea drinks. Though these beverages are a tasty treat every once in a while, some of them can contain over 60 grams of sugar in a grande size!

Most food or drinks with 5g (or less) of total sugars per 100g are considered “low sugar.” Following this guideline, you will want to keep your total sugars under 23 grams of sugar in a grande-sized Starbucks drink. In Starbucks drinks, you can find both naturally occurring sugars and added sugars.

Which flavor has the least sugar?

Even the Strawberry flavor which has the least amount of sugar has 10 teaspoons of sugar in it. That’s insane! But this is the testament to the rule that the longer the name the sweeter it’s going to be. Caramel, vanilla, gut-busting, teeth rotting, sugary frappuccino, coming this fall.

This is our first iced drink on the list, pretty much all the iced and nitro coffees are lower in sugar because there isn’t as much milk and most aren’t sweetened to be flavored in the same way Fraps are.

But the Iced Caramel Macchiato is the exception, made with 5 pumps of vanilla syrup and 3 shots of espresso with the caramel drizzle on top.

The White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino is in Starbucks on words “White chocolate Frappuccino® Roast coffee, milk, and ice get together for what might be the best thing that happens to you all day. Oh, and there’s whipped cream on top.”

But anyway. The Strawberry Frap is a blend of ice, milk, and strawberry puree with strawberry puree on top and vanilla whipped cream for good measure . This is possibly the only Starbucks drink that uses a puree rather than a sugar syrup, and it’s the first time I’ve come across vanilla whipped cream as a topping.

The white hot chocolate is exactly as it sounds, made with 5 pumps of the white chocolate mocha sauce combined with steamed milk and sweetened cream on top.

A tremendously sweet drink made all the sweeter tasting because there is no coffee involved. If you’re looking for a sweet taste then that is probably the way to go. Meanwhile the sweetest iced coffee is the straight-up iced caramel macchiato with 10 and a half teaspoons of sugar in it.

How much sugar is in a caffè misto?

Caffè Misto ( 8 grams of milk sugar) contains only coffee and a bit of steamed milk. Flat White ( 13 grams of milk sugar) is similar to the Misto, but with espresso and steamed milk. Caffè Latte ( 14 grams of milk sugar) is similar to a Flat White, and also includes milk foam.

Added sugars are what you need to watch out for. Any sugar or syrup that’s added during the preparation process is added sugar. (Added sugars are sometimes hidden on the ingredients list under sneaky names like agave nectar or corn syrup, but they’re still sugar.)

Nitro Flat White ( 14 grams of milk sugar) contains a bit more natural sugar than an Iced Flat White, but it’s still natural sugar from milk. Iced Caffè Latte ( 9 grams of milk sugar) contains slightly less natural sugar than the hot version of the same drink.

Sure, it sounds obvious — but Starbucks doesn’t differentiate between natural sugars and added sugars in their nutritional information, which can make it tricky when you’re trying to cut out added sugars. Still, a good rule of thumb is to look for a sky-high sugar content.

An espresso shot provides a caffeine kick with zero added sugar. Espresso Macchiato also contains zero added sugar, and only has a tiny dollop of steamed milk and foam. PRO TIP: Watch for espresso drinks with sneaky added sugars.

There is still an option that abides by the Sugar Free 3 program. “I put a little stevia (my preferred brand is Sweet Leaf) in my coffee.”. Both stevia and monk fruit are allowed in coffee and tea in the program, as they come from natural, plant-based sources.

Order plain black coffee – hot or cold. Plain coffee doesn’t include any sugar, added or natural.

How many calories are in a caramel mocha at Starbucks?

“The Salted Caramel Mocha comes with 470 calories, 10 grams of saturated fat, and 59 grams of added sugar, making it just one more Starbucks beverage to pass on,” says Keri Gans, author of The Small Change Diet, of a grande beverage.

Starbucks took their classic Caramel Frappuccino and raised it one. This drink has 420 calories and 12 grams of saturated fat in a grande. Unfortunately for caramel lovers, this drink isn’t offered anymore.

The Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino packs a whopping 450 calories, 15 grams of fat, and 73 grams of sugar in a grande. “You’re getting a lot of calories, especially calories from sugar,” says Jessica Cording, MS, RD, author of The Little Book of Game-Changers: 50 Healthy Habits For Managing Stress & Anxiety.

This macchiato has a lot of sugar, like 34 grams worth in a grande. “It’s another sugar-laden beverage,” Gans says.

A grande portion of this drink contains 40% of your recommended daily allowance of saturated fat. It’s also packed with sugar. This drink isn’t offered at Starbucks anymore either.

Starbucks adds a ton of sugar to their matcha latte—32 grams in a grande, to be exact. “It has a health halo around it,” Cording says, which is why people may not realize this beverage isn’t always a healthy choice.
