True Wendy’s fans will remember the original Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger that debuted in 2013 as a limited-edition menu item—which made a resurgence in 2014, but only for a short time. Then, in 2016, the chain started testing a Bacon & Beer Cheese Pretzel Burger at select locations. Now, the testing stages are officially over.
The burger features a quarter pound of beef topped with Muenster cheese, three strips of bacon, honey mustard, warm beer cheese sauce, crispy fried onions and pickles on a soft pretzel bun. “We’ve been watching and listening as customers have been craving for us to bring pretzel back,” Chief Marketing Officer Carl Laredo said in a statement.
Wendy’s on Tuesday debuted its latest burger, a Pretzel Bacon Pub Cheeseburger that is designed to replicate burgers served in a gastropub. The burger features a quarter pound of beef topped with Muenster cheese, three strips of bacon, honey mustard, warm beer cheese sauce, crispy fried onions and pickles on a soft pretzel bun.
From the pretzel bun, beer-cheese sauce, bacon, honey mustard, fried onions, pickles, and Muenster cheese, these options are anything but ordinary. Bacon Pretzel Pub cheeseburger. First Impression: This certainly looked like the best burger on the list, with apologies to the Baconator.
