As Samuel Adams Utopias 2021 has begun to be savored by connoisseurs, the “extreme beer” is more than a high ABV beverage available in limited quantities. Every two years, beer brand Samuel Adams releases their new Utopias, a beer so potent and rare that booze lovers go into a frenzy trying to get their hands on it. This year there has been more buzz than ever, with headlines revealing that the 2021 batch is illegal in fifteen states.
Samuel Adams has made only 13,000 Utopias bottles for this year and a 25-ounce bottle will cost $240. The 2021 Utopias version is $30 more than the 2019 version and $40 more than the 2017 edition.
To extend support of the cause, Samuel Adams brewer Jim Koch is offering his personal bottle number one of 2021 Utopias, signed by himself and the Inspiration4 crew, and a trip to the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery for the St. Jude Charitybuzz auction.

Over the years, the barrel aging process has developed robust, yet nuanced flavors, in this unique beverage. For anyone who has never had the opportunity to sip a Utopias, it is better described more like a lovely cognac or port.
