Do Frozen Burgers Taste Worse?

Yes, frozen burgers do go bad. However, many companies who make frozen burgers add preservatives to the meat so they can last a long time in the freezer, and it will not lose its flavor. The average frozen burger patty will last in the freezer for four months.

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire baking rack on top and spray down with oil. Place burgers on the sheet. Either season now or after the first flip depending on how frozen your patties are. Cook for 6 minutes, flip, and then drop the temperature to 325. Continue to cook until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.

The frozen burger game is slightly different, though. You need to cook it to 160 degrees. Unlike fresh patties, frozen burgers are thawed during processing and are recommended by the FDA to cook to 160 degrees or higher. Itโ€™s not safe to eat burgers medium rare or rare, so if thatโ€™s your ticket, you should make them fresh.

Pretty much the only burger I can recall tasting any worse than a McDonalds burger was a microwaved White Caste burger out of the freezer (which also tastes nothing like an actual burger.) As a matter of fact, I found the taste so repelling I just started eating the Filet-o-Fish if I had to go there.
