Let’s make one thing very clear from the beginning; you can mix anything with your vodka that you like. If you think the taste is sublime, that’s all that matters. Can you mix vodka with soda? Yes. Can you mix coke with vodka? Yes. Be it soda, energy drinks, sugar syrups, or plain water – you can try it all.
Pull out your favorite highball glass and fill it to the top with ice. Pour in 2 oz of your favorite vodka. Top off the glass with 4 oz of Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, or any other cola you prefer, Use a bar spoon or tumbler to gently mix them together.
To a cocktail glass, add ice. Add the vodka, coke and a squeeze of lime. Garnish your Vodka and Coke with a slice of lime, optional. Make this drink over ice. Never shake a drink with soda as an ingredient in a cocktail shaker.
Or mix 2 of these ideas together. The combinations are endless! Add citrus – lemon and lime are a great pairing with Coke. Use flavored vodka – if you have flavored vodka hanging around your home, swap it out plain for an instant flavor boost. (See my DIY Flavored Vodka post!)
