Is Korean Food Tasty?

Yes, Korean food is tasty. It is tastier to people who enjoy some spice, like their vegetables and like seafood, but none of these are prerequisites to liking Korean food. Some of the tastiest dishes are not hot, veggies or seafood. Even the Kimchi mandu isn’t particularly hot (my favorite).

Korean cuisine evolved through years of social and political changes. Unlike Western course meal, Korean food has main and side dishes. The traditional Korean food consist of five main colour- green, red, yellow, white, and black. Each of them signify a direction, a natural element, and a health benefit.

There are some spicy dishes, but compared to other cuisines, it ain’t all that spicy. Kimchi can be hot when it’s young, but it mellows with age. I’ve had Thai, Indian, Mexican, and even American dishes that were spicier than most Korean foods I’ve eaten. The chilies used in Korean dishes, though, have a delayed heat.

Korean Food Guide: Top Must-Try Dishes 1. Bibimbap (Rice Bowl) 2. Japchae (Stir-Fried Glass Noodles) 3. Samgyeopsal (Korean BBQ) 4. Kimchi (Spicy Fermented Vegetables) 5. Haemul Pajeon (Seafood Vegetable Pancake) 6. Kimbap/Gimbap (Korean-Style Sushi) 7. Sundubu Jjigae (Soft Tofu Stew) 8. Tteokbokki (Spicy Red Rice Cake)
