Is Bud Light Next Healthy?

If you’re just generally concerned about calories or trying to be a little healthier, there’s an entire world of low-cal and non-alcoholic beers for you to explore. But if you’ve got dietary restrictions that specifically prevent you from consuming any carbs, Bud Light Next is a solid option. It certainly beats having no beer at all.

Ubiquitous low-calorie beer maker Bud Light is releasing its next great innovation, Bud Light Next, a zero-carb brew that boasts a similarly crisp and refreshing flavor with a healthier twist.

With a 4% ABV and zero carbs per 12-ounce can, Reitz says Bud Light Next is refreshing and “noticeably lighter than a regular Bud Light,” which is a given. She also notes a “citrusy undertone” she didn’t expect.

The company brewed up a new take on its light beer — Bud Light Next — and you’ll find this zero-carb beer in the same kind of can you enjoy your Bud Light Seltzers from. Anheuser-Busch unveiled new Bud Light Next on Jan. 27, and you’ll be able to try the sip for yourself so soon.

Bud Light Next sports a 4% ABV, 80 calories and zero carbs. (For comparison, a regular Bud Light has a 4.2% ABV, 110 calories and 6.6 grams of carbs.) But given everything we know about how beer works, there’s no way a zero-carb brew can actually taste good, right? Surprisingly, it’s fine.

Here are the Bud Light Next nutrition facts. It’s said that a 12-ounce serving of Bud Light Next will contain 4% ABV (alcohol by volume), which is comparable to the amount in the original Bud Light.
