How Do Chefs Cook Bacon?

One way to way of cooking bacon in the oven is on a cooling rack placed on top of a cookie sheet. This is the method for you if you like extra crispy bacon and want as little grease as possible.

It’s okay to overlap slices slightly because the bacon will shrink slightly as it bakes. Place pan in the cold oven. Heat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Cook bacon for 14 minutes or until it’s cooked the way you like. No need to flip the bacon over. Transfer cooked bacon to paper towel-lined plates.

Arrange bacon in a single layer in a cold cast-iron skillet. Cook on medium-low. Turn bacon occasionally with tongs for even cooking. Cook to desired doneness. Drain on paper towels. Crisp-Chewy: 14:30 min.

1 Line a microwave-safe plate with paper towels. 2 Place slices of bacon on top of paper towels. Place another layer of paper towel on top of bacon. 3 Microwave on High for 1 to 6 minutes, depending on how many slices of bacon you are cooking.
