With Halloween, this Sunday (31), a date that in Brazil is called “Halloween”, don’t be surprised if you find a vampire or character from a horror movie or series in the elevator of the building or corner of the house. The proximity of the date has increased the demand for artistic makeup in Recife and the Metropolitan Region (see video above).

Many people want to do their best to participate in private parties. So, g1 talked to two makeup artists and got tips on how to make or be inspired for a good artistic makeup. They also reveal what the costs are for anyone wanting help from a professional.

Makeup artist Raphael Ramos said that, this week, he made three makeups with the theme in the same day.

“A child did a Mexican skull makeup, a digital influencer did a serial character, and a physical education teacher asked for the characterization of death. All for Halloween parties,” he said.

Also makeup artist Lívia Pereira said that at the time of the commemorative date it is always like this, with a lot of work, especially on the weekend.

“There was a time when a lot of people wanted more horror stuff, a lot of blood, vampires. This year, it has changed a lot. It’s also very connected to pop culture. A lot of clown people, fairies and a lot of characters from series and movies,” he said.

The two makeup artists claim that, for a good Halloween characterization, it’s worth exaggerating. At this time, they say that, in addition to makeup, items such as a wig and contact lenses help a lot.

Lívia recalled that some essential items in the women’s makeup box make it much easier, such as eyeliner and red lipstick.

“You can use it as lipstick to make the blood, if it’s from the liquid, even to stain your clothes. The black eyeliner has numerous features. And with glitter you can give a classic and impactful effect. Raphael Ramos mentioned other things that a lot of people have at home that can help with artistic makeup, such as ketchup, wheat flour, glue stick and adhesive tape.

“A person can get together with what they have a house. Even ketchup helps to make fake blood. If you want to make gray hair, add wheat flour. You can apply the glue stick to your eyebrow and then hide it with makeup. Get one. pencil or black eyeshadow, smudges around the eye. It can make a contour on the face, dirtying it,” he said.

The makeup artist added that the important thing is not to be afraid of making mistakes. “You have to get your hands dirty. For those who don’t understand makeup, the tip is to get lost and go. For those who understand, exaggerate what you know how to do. It’s almost Carnival, you can play, even with the red glitter”.

The prices of artistic makeup, according to the two makeup artists, start at R$100 and can reach up to R$500, depending on the difficulty of what is requested.

Values ​​are also established by the material used and the time spent. Contact lenses, for example, make productions on average R$ 80 more expensive.
